I’ve tried a few of the big ones I mentioned. Academia. Programming. Graphic design. Now I work with data (as it looks like you do, The Runaway Economist). One thing I never discussed much was teaching. It’s part of academic life, but usually an afterthought. I tried that for four years (at a community college). Lots of teachers are introverts — somehow it’s different — though I would never be able to teach high-school, being “on” all day long. A little on the side is a good addition, and gets me away from the desk.
Right now, I’m holding steady with a mix of things. The INTPreneur route still beckons. But with Covid-19, risks loom a little larger in the mind.
